About this card's ① st effect:
This effect is an Ignition Effect, which can be activated in the Monster Zone.
The targeted monster must be chosen in such a way that you can Special Summon a DARK Link Monster. (You cannot target a monster, unless you can Link Summon a DARK Link Monster in your Extra Deck, except "Unchained Soul of Anguish", by using only that monster and this card as material.)
This is an effect that affects your opponent's monster. (It does not apply to monsters that are unaffected by this activated effect. If the targeted monster is unaffected by this effect during its resolution, both the target and this card remain in the Monster Zone.)
If a monster leaves the field as a result of this effect, it is not considered to have left the field by a card effect.

About this card's ② nd effect:
This is a Trigger Effect.
You can also activate it during the Damage Step.
If this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard as a result, the effect can be activated while in the Graveyard. If this card is destroyed and banished as a result, the effect can be activated while banished. (The effect can be activated wherever the card is first sent to as a result of being destroyed.)
This effect can be activated even if this card is destroyed while in the Spell & Trap Zone, or destroyed while face-down.
